Saturday 23 February 2013

Thank you to all the riders that turned out and supported this fundraiser for Wellbeing North Canterbury. And thank you to all the sponsors for the great prizes.

Finally we have set a date for the next Lees Valley Challenge ... it is Saturday 23 February 2013.

A March date gives you all plenty of time to train over summer and for those new to these events, we are hoping to introduce a shorter 40km course. Details on this to come.

You can register for the Lees Valley Challenge here

Lees Valley Challenge is an 80 km endurance ride through some remote spectacular areas of North Canterbury country. This is comparable to other endurance races like the Rainbow Rage and Molesworth Muster. The ride begins by climbing over the Okuku Pass, along Lees Valley Road, over Laddbrooks Hill then Bottle Hill and then a sweet down hill all the way to the Ashley Gorge finish line.

The course is 100% rideable 4WD shingle road which contains numerous creek crossings and cattle stops, one major river crossing (Okuku River), one lane bridges, and stunning views all the way.

Plus we make it easy for the support crews with the finish line only 30km from the start line. So drop your rider off then head straight to Ashley Gorge and chill out with a range of activities to keep you amused and entertained until the riders appear.

Entries will be limited to ensure a quality event for riders and supporters. All proceeds from this event go to Well Being North Canterbury which is a Rangiora based non profit organisation providing essential community services in the Waimakariri district.
